How to Setup SPF in HostGator
An SPF record is a type of resource record that is used by the DNS to prevent unauthorized access to the sender address of an email message. This record is used in the context of sending and receiving email messages. If a computer on a network is infected with malware, or if a system is trying to generate more email than it intended, then the message will be sent from the authorized domain.
Procedure:
- Login to your Hostgator Control Panel and click the Advanced DNS Zone Editor icon.
- Select your domain name
- Under Add a Record, enter the following information:
- Name: type your domain name (e.g. yourdomain.com)
- TTL:

- Type:
TXT
- Address:
v=spf1 include:emailidea.biz mx
- Click the Add Record button.
